Apprenticeship Funding Rules Updated For 2021/2022

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has published Version 2 of the apprenticeship funding rules for 2021 to 2022.

These documents set out the rules around apprenticeship funding for all apprenticeships starting from 1st August 2021.

With Version 2, the ESFA has updated the rules to reflect how these have changed with regard to incentive payments and evidence requirements. These updates affect both hiring a new apprentice and incorporating an apprentice transfer.

Sections of the funding rules affected by this new version include:

    • Incentive payments for hiring a new apprentice from 1st October 2021
    • Apprenticeships funded by transfer of levy funds
    • Evidence requirements

The changes are outlined in more detail in the Summary of Changes V2 document, which you can view here.

The ESFA published five versions of the apprenticeship funding rules for 2020/2021. Stay tuned to our blog to keep up-to-date with any further updates for the 2021/2022 funding period.
