If you’re an entrepreneur or small business owner, we want your insight into how you do your job.
We are once again working with Skills Development Scotland to review the suite of National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Business Enterprise.
The current NOS outline the range of functions and areas of competence for job roles within Business Enterprise. We are conducting this review with the aim of bringing the content up-to-date and in line with current best practices.
To do this in the best way, we would greatly appreciate your feedback.
We need your views and opinions to keep the NOS up-to-date and functional. The NOS are important for job profiles, appraisals, learning programmes, and units. They underpin qualifications and apprenticeships.
The first consultation is based on competence areas and functions for entrepreneurs running their own businesses. If you have knowledge of this position, please take our survey:
If you would like to learn more about the current NOS, you can view the Occupational Map.
The launch of the Business Enterprise consultation follows on from yesterday’s Cleaning and Support Services NOS review launch, which you can learn more about here.
How Do We Use Your Feedback?
Without continuous refreshment, NOS will be left behind by the swift pace of industry.
We rely on employers and training providers to give us a real-world view of how well the NOS apply – and how they can be improved. This is why your input is so vital.
As the UK’s pan-sector skills authority, we focus on more than just Cleaning and Support Services. To learn more about how we work with Skills Development Scotland to action your feedback, read our recent case study: How Your Feedback Shaped the Digital Marketing NOS.
Our work on the National Occupational Standards is only possible thanks to the engagement and input of our professional network. As a part of our network, you can shape future skills development in your industry.
