The Business Administrator Trailblazer group is reviewing the apprenticeship Standard for Business Administrator (Level 3), and employers are invited to take part.
As one of the highest volume apprenticeship Standards, Business Administrator (Level 3) is a popular development route. It’s a valuable role that gives apprentices the opportunity to learn first-hand how the teams and services operate.
This review will update the Level 3 Standard to accommodate the proposed introduction of a Level 2 “Assistant Administrator” Standard.
What is a Trailblazer Group?
Trailblazer groups are skills bodies and employers that work together to define the competencies apprentices need to develop. Through a process of consultation and iteration, Standards are defined, updated, and submitted for review and publishing.
Joining a Trailblazer Group is the most direct way to shape apprenticeship training for the future.
Business Administrator Standard Review
To join the Trailblazer group for the Business Administrator (Level 3) Standard, you will first need to review the proposed updates to the current Standard, which you can view here.
Please pay close consideration to the duties and Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours outlined in this draft.
You can submit your feedback on this draft in one of two ways.
In late September, the Trailblazer group will reform to discuss the proposed changes with the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (the Institute). This is the organisation responsible for approving the Business Administrator Standard for use.
The meeting will take place on one of the following dates:
- Tuesday 21 September: 13:00-14:00
- Tuesday 21 September: 15:00-16:00
- Wednesday 22 September: 14:30-15:30
If you would like to join this meeting, please email Tom Pearce for further details.
If you are unable to join the meeting, Tom would still welcome any feedback you can provide via email. A simple confirmation that the Standard matches your interpretation of the Business Administrator role can be as important as extensive feedback.
