Let’s get the best result.
Seems a bit early to be thinking about your end-point assessment, right? That’s fair. But choosing the right assessor today will make your life much easier when you do get to the end of your apprenticeship.
At Instructus Skills we do everything we can to make end-point assessment easy for you. Whether it’s by giving you online resources or making sure that your assessor is friendly and supportive, we do what we can to make sure you get the result you deserve. This means taking the time to treat you as a person, rather than a number.

It’s all good starting your apprenticeship (well done on that, by the way). But do you know how it’s going to end?
By the time you’re ready for end-point assessment, you’ll also be up-to-speed in your role and juggling all sorts of responsibilities. At that point, our straightforward, easy approach will be just what you want.
Here’s a simplified version of what you can expect…
So, you’ve almost completed your training. This means that you’re soon going to start a process called Gateway. This is where end-point assessment really begins.
Your training provider triggers Gateway by submitting your portfolio of evidence to our team, which is basically a collection of the work that you’ve completed over the course of your apprenticeship. We study your portfolio, consider your knowledge, skills, and behaviours, and decide if you’re ready to proceed.
Once you pass Gateway (we never had any doubts), we have up to three months to complete your end-point assessment. The onus is on us to make the assessment modules work to your schedule, and your assessor will be in touch to book these in with you.
At this point, you can log in to the online Learner Management System. Here you can access a range of supporting documents to help you prepare and revise. It’s a flexible approach that puts you in control.
3. End-Point Assessment
Before your assessment, we like to offer you a one-to-one session with your assessor. This gives you the chance to get to know them, ask any questions, and learn how the process works. They’ll take you through each module and give you a clear idea of what to expect. Previous apprentices have said that this has helped to settle their nerves, which is always a good thing!
After that? It’s simply a case of working through each module until you’ve completed your end-point assessment.
4. Results & Certification
Now that you’ve done your bit, we’ll get to work on the grading.
We’ll share your end-point assessment results with you and your employer within 10 working days of you completing your final module. If you’re happy with the result, we’ll request your certificate of completion from the Apprenticeship Assessment Service. This will then be sent to your employer.
And when you have your certificate in hand? Well, that means your apprenticeship is complete!
Who Are We, Anyway?
Instructus Skills is proud to be part of the Instructus Group, a family of organisations that exist to help people progress in education, in work, and in life.
The Instructus Skills brand first appeared in 2017, but we’ve actually been a vital part of UK apprenticeships since we formed in 1996 as the Skills Council for Apprenticeships. As the UK’s largest apprenticeship certification authority, training providers and employers across the country trust us to ensure that apprenticeships continue to meet high standards.
In 2015 the Instructus Group took ownership of both CQM Training & Consultancy, a multiple award-winning training provider, and Springboard Consultancy, a personal and professional development company with a global reach. Springboard Consultancy’s focus on diversity and inclusivity underpins the approach of our entire group and ensures we maintain a people-first culture.
As part of the Instructus family we are dedicated to developing people and transforming lives in everything that we do.
We Are Proud To Partner With
Instructus Skills is a pan-sector body that represents the training needs of over 11 million employees across the UK. From consultations to certification, we ensure that apprenticeships deliver the skilled workers that employers need.
