SQA Accreditation is undertaking a review of the Scottish Vocational Qualifications brand. To do this, they need your input.
SQA Accreditation quality assures qualifications offered in Scotland by approving awarding bodies and accrediting their qualifications. They achieve this by regulating awarding bodies and their qualifications against published regulatory requirements.
This SVQ brand review will ensure that the qualification type continues to support the labour market at present. It will also aim to outline potential ways to future proof the brand for the longer term.
How you can support the SVQ brand review
For the first phase of this review, SQA Accreditation is conducting a series of workshops with employers, learners, colleges, private training providers, and other stakeholders.
There will be up to four sessions with each institution over the span of a year, with each session aimed at sharing a different perspective on the SVQs. Sessions will be grouped by stakeholder to ensure an environment where participants feel that they can give opinions openly and honestly.
The sessions will target three questions:
• What works well with the qualifications
• What works less well
• What the solutions might be
Each of these hour-long sessions will include 6-10 participants and will be conducted on Teams or Zoom.
Potential times for the sessions are:
• Wednesdays 11am-12pm
• Thursdays 11am-12pm and 3-4pm
• Friday 11am-12pm
The sessions will start from 7th April 2021.
