The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) has published an updated version of the Traineeships Framework for Delivery 2020 to 2021.
Available on the GOV.UK site, this document provides policy guidance and claim information for employers and training providers that want to take advantage of the Traineeships employer incentive.
The headline figures from the report are:
- Creation of funding for 30,000 new traineeships
- Increased funding rate for Adult Education Budget funded traineeships for those aged 19-24
- Maximum duration of traineeships extended to one year where learners need it
- “Increased line of sight” to occupational standards to support progression into apprenticeships and sector-specific jobs
The Traineeships Framework for Delivery 2020 to 2021 covers the period from 1st September 2020 to 31st July 2021. This will allow employers to claim incentive payments for Trainees who may have started on programme before the 1st September 2020 but, due to the impact of COVID-19, could not access a work placement until after that date.
